Thank you to all who braved weather and rising gasprices to attend the Misty Highlands Relay for LifeDemo/Fundraiser. With the rain we had to moveactivities indoors and so the allure to passerby folkswas lost, and the overall numbers present were abouthalf the previous year, despite that hwe had a greattime and put on a wonderful show for the spectators. The local newspaper had a nice photo of Anias inaction and an even bigger pic of Emily giving me anice stab in the side, under my left arm.The heavy fighters were definate stars of the day andthe action, what I got to see of it was spectacular! !It was a wonderful display of prowess and chivalry tothis spectator..( Though my daughters drew away myattention from the heavy fighting pretty early Iadmit.) The heavy community's support of this Demoover the years has been phenomenal and one itsgreatest strengths. The Squire Gareth had donated aone hundred dollar gift certificate to the victor ofthe heavy tourney, usuable for armor from him. Anias won both tourneys that day, the Fencing and theHeavy. He donated the armor gift certificate the Shireof Misty Highlands Iron Key's needs. Vivat to DonAnias!!!!Again, thanks to all who attended.. and if someone ison the Main AEthelmearc Mail list, please forward thisas is appropo. Everyones support was wonderful, youare all amazing people. Thank you for giving ofyourselves in the Battle Against Cancer.. Your efforttouches many lives.
