I am a youth rapier marshal, and Morgan is correct--at this time you cannot start doing youth rapier until age 14.  Youth fighters have a much younger age restriction.  I do not know exactly what it is, but I am pretty sure I've seen fighters younger than 11.  There are others on this list who can tell you more about that than I, as well as where you might find an active youth practice.

When your son is old enough for youth rapier we'll welcome him with open arms though!

While I'm not a youth rapier marshal, I do know that the kingdom youth rapier program begins at a minimum of age 14. I'm not 100% on the heavy youth situation, so I'll leave that to others to address. Hope that helps.
