Event Bid for Heralds & Scribes Collegium
Date: December 13, 2008
Place: Prickett’s Fort State Park (Fairmont, WV)
Activities: Classes for current or aspiring Heralds and Scribes
Site Cost: $270 for rental of the Visitor Center, the Education
Building, and the Fort
$75 refundable cleaning deposit
½ of site cost is due at reservation along with the
cleaning deposit
2nd ½ is due 7 days prior to the event
Total site cost = $270 (if clean-up is satisfactory)
Food: $100 (a lunch will be provided; no feast)
Incidentals: $30 (for additional food, items for royalty if
necessary, etc)
Troll Fee: $10.00 per adult (includes lunch)
$5.00 for children <12; no charge for children <5
Break Even: 40 adults

More Information:
- the Visitor Center banquet hall (downstairs) can accommodate approximately 80 people with tables and chairs; approximately 100 without tables
- the Visitor Center library could host a class or consulting area
- the museum in the upstairs of the Visitor Center can accommodate a lecture style class
- the Education Building can accommodate approximately 30 people at a time (3 class spaces)
- the Fort itself contains 2-4 buildings appropriate for lecture style classes; firewood will be provided for heating these buildings
- tables and chairs will be provided
- 3 bathrooms are available and can be used as changing rooms (one inside the Visitor Center, a pair beside the Visitor Center, and a pair near the Education Building)
- a small kitchen is available inside the Visitor Center
- there is adequate lawn space for fighting if there is a marshal willing to supervise
- site is discreetly damp (alcohol consumption is limited to the buildings)
- plenty of parking is available, both by the Visitor Center and by the Education Building
- no additional insurance is required
