  I just wanted to introduce myself as the the A&S minister for Misty Highlands and let you all know the new schedule of A&S activities in the shire.  My SCAdien name is Rota Egilsdottir, but some of you may know me as Alicia Lyons.  Althyng, or A&S gathering, will now be held once a month on the first Thursday of the month.  Therefore, our first meeting is scheduled for November 1, 2007 at 7:00pm.  I would like to set up a rotating schedule to maximize convenience of location for as many as possible.  If you are willing to host Althyng one month, please contact me with your name, contact info, and which month you'd like to host it.  I would really like to make contact with as many artisans in the area that I can and find out what everyone is interested in.  If we do not have a volunteer for a particular month, the location of Althyng will default to my home in Grafton.  My information should be posted on the Misty Highlands webpage soon.  I will also try to send out a
 email reminder prior to Althyng to remind everyone of the date, time, and location of the meeting.  Also, if there is a particular craft someone is interested in and wants to have a class focused on that skill, I'll find a teacher.
   
  I would also like to know what everyone would like to see available at Yule coming up on December 8th at the Quiet Dell Community Center.  We already have someone willing to teach calligraphy.  I am also hoping to have a general scriptorium where people can work on scrolls at their leisure.  If anyone wishes to learn about other skills, such as embroidery or metalworking, please notify me as soon as possible.  I have limited access to the internet, so feel free to call me at 304-619-6065.
