[Mistyhighlandslist] Election Reminder

Greetings,

            This is a reminder that nominations for all offices will begin
at the January shire meeting (January 21st) and that elections will be held
at the February shire meeting (February 11th.)  Serving as a shire officer
is a great way to support your local group. While some of the offices
require previous warrants (the marshallate positions mainly) many of the
offices require little experience and are fairly easy to learn. If you think
you would be interested in a position and aren’t sure what the office does
please feel free to contact the current officer and find out more. The
contact information for the current officers is located on the shire web

            Below is a list of shire offices with very brief descriptions.

            Seneschal – Misty Highlands

Seneschal

            Group president, runs business meetings, makes sure rules/bylaws
are followed

Exchequer

            Group treasurer, maintains checkbook

Chronicler

            Takes meeting minutes, publishes shire newsletter

Fencing Marshal

            Runs Fencing activities, must be a fencing marshal.

Knight Marshal

            Runs heavy weapons activities, must be a heavy marshal, does not
have to be a knight.

Herald

            Assists with name and device submissions. Makes public
announcements at events.

Chatellain

            New member support, recruitment, runs demos.

Minister of the Lists

            Runs tournements, maintains list of authorized fencers and heavy
fighters.

Web Minister

            Maintains website for group.

Thrown Weapons Marshal

            Runs thrown weapons activities, must be a thrown weapons
marshal.

Archery Marshal

            Runs archery weapons activities, must be an archery marshal.

Minister of Arts & Sciences

            Coordinates and supports A&S activities. (garb making, scribal,
fiber arts etc, etc, etc.)

Chiurgeon 

            First aid support at marshal activities and events.

Chamberlain (if passed at January meeting)

            Maintains lists of shire property and where stuff is kept at.
