Anyone interested???

I was wondering, though, if you and or some of your
fellow reenactors would be available to do
presentations at some of our local elementary
schools in connection with our Read Aloud program.
Each year we select an author, or group of authors (as
in this year's case of Newbery and Caldecott Award
winners) to feature in a rotating two-week celebration
at each school. One of our featured books this year
is, Saint George and the Dragon. We try to find local
resource people who can share
their expertise in a way that brings the book to life
and I thought one of your members might be able to
share a knights armour/chain mail and/or give a sword
demonstration. In most cases, presenters volunteer
their time, but if payment is required the schools
have the option of trying to raise funding or seek
money from their PTO groups. Out of the fifteen
elementary schools, usually only a handful schedule
presentations, but we do try to provide a list of
contacts from which they can choose from.
If you have anyone that you think would be interested,
I would look forward to talking to them and sending
them a copy of the book which will be featured, so
that they may plan a 30-45 minute
presentation.
Diana
