Greetings Fair Shire!

 

            For some time now we've been tossing around the idea of having a
shire get together to bring together all our various subgroups to get to
know each other better. We had the shire dinner at Pennsic and we've been
looking for an appropriate site to have a holiday gathering. (Something
inexpensive yet spacious enough for our growing population.) Well, we
finally found a site. Now we just need to work out a time when most of us
can attend. I've checked the sites availability and I'd like to propose 4
dates for consideration: December 2nd, December 3rd, December 9th, or
December 10th. 

 

            Some basics of what is being proposed. The site fee is only $60.
We'd like to make this a free event so that all our new members can attend.
(Donations would be accepted of course.) The feast would be pot-luck, no
requirement for authentic food. No garb required. While indoor space is
limited (you don't get much for $60) there is plenty of outdoor space for
fighting, fencing, and thrown weapons (and possibly archery, not sure on
that one yet.) Indoor activities would include gaming, socializing, and
eating. Quite serendipitously, we've also been contacted by the new Kingdom
Signet about doing a scriptorium. The site is discreetly damp, so the
responsible sampling of beverages may also take place. Oh, the site is the
Quiet Dell Community Center near Valley Falls (5 miles from Exit 137).

 

            So, that being said, when's a good time for us all to get
together for a laid back free event where you don't have to wear garb?
