[Mistyhighlandslist] Announce: Youth Fighting Start-up

Greetings to the Shire:
   
  For some time the main thrust of the interest in youth fighting here has been with my kids (Magnus mainly who has competed actively.)  However, this has recently changed.  Several kids in our neighborhood have now expresed some interest.  At this point all of them are Division III (13 - 17yrs old) eligable.  As such, on Sunday Oct. 15 at 1:30 pm  I will begin holding regular youth fighter practice.  The location for now will be at my home at 41 West St.  Westover, WV.  If anyone has or knows of children between the ages of 6 and 17, I would be more than happy to include them.  Please have the parents contact me as per the contact information below.  
   
  This first meeting will be an informational meeting regarding what is needed for armor in the various division, and will also include a class on making youth boffer weapons.   This will include sheilds, swords, and if there is interest some mass weapons like maces and what not.  We may also begin with some slow work on the pell teaching the five basic shots.  ABSOLUTELY NO CONTACT will occur at this first meeting between new students.  However, Magnus and a friend may present a small demonstration bout to give parents a look at what is involved.
   
  NON DIVISION III INTEREST
   
  For those under the age of 13 with an interest in getting involved.  This first meeting will also apply.  I would be happy to discuss with any parent what is needed for armor.  I will also be avalable to teach them how to construct Division I and II legal weapons
   
  PLEASE NOTE:  Parents must be present at all times during the practice.  No children will be allowed to remain if they are unattended.  This will be an on-going rule and will apply not only to this practice but to all future practices.
